Hallelujah! I’ve seen the light!

This past Friday night for the first time in what I thought would be never ever again I went out for a “Night on the Town”. I wore a wedged heel, shot pool, played some corn-hole, danced and had fun. Having resigned myself to a continued life of sedentary hobbies like TV, social media, and being waited upon as I deteriorated, this kinda evening was filed away in drawer 86 aka the trash can.

Western medicine didn’t offer me this option in my life. Whatever could have given me the idea that quitting Western treatments for an Eastern philosophy & protocols would, I haven’t a clue but something in me decided why not try. Not only did I not have a clue as to why but I also was the last one clued into the improvements those lifestyle changes made.

Ironically, I was noticeably more active, more tolerant, more capable and so I’d push myself more. Pushing myself to the same levels of excruciating pain I was experiencing at the height of treatment so I didn’t notice I could shop longer or more often, I didn’t notice I ate better or drank more fluids, or bathed more, or brushed my hair or teeth more often but everyone around me did and that made their sticking to their lifestyle upheaval for me even easier.

Plus without counting calories or portions or exercising above a sedentary lifestyle until this summer, not even calisthenics, and I lost weight. Not just 5 or 10 or 20 lbs, either. I lost over 50 lbs between July 2015 and December of 2017 and another 10 – 15 lbs since the first of the year. My husband has lost weight too, not as much I have thought as he sneaks out and gets the extra fast food, soda, candies, & desserts that I don’t. However, generally, he feels better than he did with fewer aches and pains than before as well as emotionally and I think I understand why…

I believe it is the inflammatory response in the body wreaking havoc upon the body. inflammation is directly related to depression; Alzheimer’s; dementia; diabetes; arthritis: including spondylosis aka degenerative disc; chronic pain; neuropathy; neurogenic edema which is different from water retention; and more.

As I started down this new “research rabbit-hole” covering “stem cell” & “telomeres” discovering how to support them through foods/herbals, what I found floored me. I learned that there are one of a kind researchers out there being paid to study the correlation between “Nutrition & Neurodegeneration” [insert the sound of screeching brakes while someone is screaming] “WTF! Did I just read that correctly nutrition and neurodegeneration? A correlation between improving with food or not?” Someone is studying the effects of the inflammatory response of the body and diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s… Hmmm… Go figure.

In that very same article, I read how this scientist researcher is described by other scientists and researchers as always being like five years ahead of the curve with all the other researchers finally catching up to him later on down the road. To which point I’m now thinking, wait a minute… If he’s ahead of the curve then I must be way ahead of the curve because I’ve implemented what he’s talking about in me and I’ve seen the changes!
